A day at the beach

For Elon's fall break we drove up to Rehoboth Beach, DE to spend a few days with my parents and my sister and her husband. It was about a seven hour drive, and Braeden handled it really well. He and I slept for a bit at the beginning while Mat drove. We read books, played with toys, and talked. And then we were there.

It was great to see my family and Braeden loved being the center of attention for four days. As soon as we got there, he went straight into my mom's arms and stayed there with his head on her shoulder. He picked up a few new words during the visit, perfecting P-Pa and learning to say Abi. We'll have to shoot video of Braeden calling out Abi. He loves saying it!

This is our fourth year in a row going to the beach for fall break. Normally we go down South, so this was our first trip to a northern beach in the fall. It was a lot cooler than we're used to, windier too. Braeden was afraid of the waves, but loved playing in a tidal pool leftover from high tide. The water was a little warmer there and the beach was littered with shells. So he stomped through the water, splashing and throwing shells. He would point at the seagulls and shout burr, then point to the sky at an airplane and shout airmay. Too cute!

Mom took all the pictures, so I can't post any here until I get the CD she'll send out when she gets the film delivered.
